Located at 140 Hobson Street, it’s not just a building—it’s a place where people come together to learn, grow, and belong.

By choosing to hire one of our spaces, you’re helping Aucklanders access food, housing, healthcare and support services. You’ll be sharing the building with Mission staff, volunteers, and tenants who live in the permanent apartments above.


We also offer in-house catering prepared onsite by our talented chefs, another meaningful way to support the Mission’s mahi while enjoying fresh, delicious food made right here at HomeGround.

“Hosting our workshop at the Mission’s beautiful rooftop event space was an easy decision for Edge Impact. HomeGround is in the city centre, at 140 Hobson Street, near St Matthew-in-the-City. It’s easily accessible by public transport with a bus stop outside, plus trains and ferries within walking distance.

All meeting rooms are accessible by wheelchair.

Although the booking does not include parking, there are many carparks nearby including next door (Wilson Parking St Matthew-in-the-City), across the road (Wilson Parking 141 Hobson Street) and a short walk away (SkyCity and Tournament Parking City Works Depot). If a guest has access needs that require a carpark, or caterers or equipment suppliers need an onsite carpark while loading, please request it in advance.

It’s possible to book on weekends and evenings, depending on the size of the group.

If booking outside of standard working hours (M – F 8.30 – 5.00), there is an additional cost of security (minimum 4 hours), at approximately $57 per hour, GST exclusive.

The rooftop function room includes access to a commercial kitchen, supplied with crockery, cutlery and equipment.


The ground floor meeting rooms do not have kitchen facilities.

Yes! Our in-house chefs create delicious food right here in our commercial kitchen at HomeGround. When you order through us, you’re not only getting great food – you’re also helping to support the work of the Mission across Tāmaki Makaurau. Ask for a catering menu or quote when you book. Alternatively, we can provide a list of companies.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate weddings or parties.

Your catering company will need to have a license for you to serve alcohol. If alcohol is served, we ask that as the host you ensure people are:

  • drinking moderately and responsibly.
  • mindful that some people living at HomeGround are in recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction or are currently in the withdrawal (detox) services on site.

For the rooftop function room, there is a ‘plug and play’ projector and sound system, and a whiteboard.

Each smaller meeting room has an HDMI tv and a whiteboard.

WIFI is available in all rooms.

The rooftop function room is $500 / half day, while the ground floor meeting rooms are $50 / hour, GST exclusive.


If booking for an evening or weekend, there’s an additional cost of security (minimum 4 hours), at approximately $57 per hour, GST exclusive.
