As we begin our next century of support, the Mission is committed to become a great Te Tiriti o Waitangi partner, embracing all that means. The Mission is blessed with a Māori name – Te Tāpui Atawhai. To honour that name, we formally became a place where two people belong, and recognised our place in the restoration needed to move forward as one country of two founding peoples.
To find out more about how the Mission supports people, please check out our What we do section.
We promise to continue our work for 100 years to come, truly honouring our city, our country as a place founded by two peoples.
We provide immediate relief and pathways to long-term wellbeing for people in greatest need, through connection and access to kai, kāinga and hauora.
We recognise and value the mana of every person as equal or greater than our own through hospitality, generosity, aroha and respect.
We seek to engage in authentic partnerships characterised by mutual trust, integrity, respect, transparency, commitment and collaboration. We demonstrate our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi through our actions.
Compassion, care and grace guides our every interaction.
Committed to equity and seeking dignity for all, we will fearlessly advocate with and for people experiencing greatest need.
