Our Homeless Not Hopeless campaign shines a light of the diverse realities of homelessness in Tāmaki Makaurau.

Through the voices of people who have lived it, we are sharing not just the suffering, but also the resilience, courage, hope and joy that we see every day at the Mission.

We’re showing how culturally appropriate solutions – which recognise the complex, diverse needs of people experiencing homelessness – can truly change lives.

We invite you to be part of the solution. Together, we can turn homelessness into hope.

Look out for the campaign in Mission updates, on social media, and on billboards around the city.

Stories of Hope

Denise

"HomeGround is a godsend. I’m free. I’m happy. I feel younger and I think it’s this place and this woman, my best friend!"

Stories of Hope

Maryann

"I just like being free, being able to do what I want, when I want. So that's why I smile a lot these days because things are completely different. It's lifted the stress of me, because I was permanently stressed before."

Stories of Hope

Te Wharekura

"Where I slept in Victoria Park was just 30 metres away from where the [Te Tō] Pā was. I was sleeping in the place where my ancestors once slept. This was their home. So in a sense, I wasn't homeless, but I longed to be housed and safe."
